The upper temperature thresholds of life

چکیده

Temperature affects many life processes, but its effect might be expected to differ among eukaryotic organisms inhabiting similar environments. We reviewed literature on temperature thresholds of humans, livestock, poultry, agricultural crops, and sparse examples fisheries. found that preferable harmful temperatures are for cattle, pigs, fish, crops. Preferable range from 17°C 24°C. Stress lower when humidity is higher. However, extended exposure above 25°C with high can cause heat stress in organisms. Short exposures 35°C humidity, or 40°C low lethal. Increases exposure, frequency, duration stressful lethal increase the physiological bodily damage suffered by an integral feature habitats all most investigated physical impact parameter. physical, chemical, biological, ecological factors at scales. For example, influencing states matter, determines whether frost forms a leaf sweat evaporates skin. influences dissolution diffusion rate essential chemicals thermodynamics metabolic reactions. At cellular level, affect fluidity membranes, folding proteins, regulation gene expression; indicators strain include protein alteration fluctuations profiles tissues.1Abdelnour SA Abd El-Hack ME Khafaga AF Arif M Taha AE Noreldin biomarkers proteomics thermal ruminants: review.J Therm Biol. 2019; 79: 120-134Crossref PubMed Scopus (55) Google Scholar macroecological influence abundance food, water, competitors predators,2Prosser CL Hildebrandt G Hensel H Biological adaptation. a time-series analysis of the demand for life insurance in iran
